Every week, we’re enthralled by the tale Ryan Murphy is spinning for us with The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story. While the show has taken a turn in explaining the method behind Andrew Cunanan, it is still interesting to watch.
It’s interesting. So basically, they killed Versace and they showed a bit of his life surrounding his career and his death but have decided, instead, to focus on Andrew. Which maybe that’s because his methods were a little crazy.
Granted, I don’t necessarily like that. If you’re giving me a show about Versace, I want it to be about Gianni Versace, not about the man who murdered him because he was pathological liar. Still, Ryan Murphy makes us care about this story and how we got to the death in the very beginning of the season.
With amazing performances and us aching week after week to know why Andrew felt the need to take Gianni’s life, it is definitely a show that we’re going to be talking about next award season. But is that surprising? The first season was the talk of the town and now The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story is giving us the same excitement.
