Star Wars: 10 actors we’d love to see joining the franchise

Tessa Thompson
Tessa Thompson wants to do an all-female Marvel Cinematic Universe movie, but really, we wouldn’t complain if she decided to take her talents over to Lucasfilm. After her work as Valkyrie in Thor: Ragnarok, she’s shown she can own a supporting role that ends up playing a huge part in the plot of a film.
So why not let Thompson handle the main character duties herself? She’s familiar with what it’s like to work in CGI and big action scene-heavy films after Ragnarok, and she even manages to do a little piloting as Valkyrie, too. Let her lead a fantastic crew that mostly does whatever suits them and maybe actually has an impact on the galaxy or something.
She’d even make for a great bounty hunter if Lucasfilm still does the Boba Fett movie at some point.

Michael B. Jordan
Now, I’m not saying that Michael B. Jordan has to be on this list solely because he deserves a good, big-budget heroic role after his efforts as Johnny Storm in the much-maligned (and pretty much rightly so, since that movie was … less than stellar) Fantastic Four reboot, but I’m thinking it very hard.
And, like Chadwick Boseman, he’s moving into the public consciousness due to a very big role in Black Panther.
As we so often do, Buckie Wells and I talked over this list a bit, and in talking with her, I came up with the kind of role that is a little Johnny Storm, but better, which about sums up my feelings about why Jordan should be in Star Wars: Poe Dameron’s rival in piloting, who might be a little better than him, and with whom there is an undercurrent of romantic tension.
Granted, Star Wars: Episode IX has a lot to handle without tossing this in, but it’d be a fun arc for Poe.
