25 of TV’s messiest meltdowns

Kevin May or May Not be Insane — Kevin (Probably) Saves the World
ABC’s new show, Kevin (Probably) Saves The World, features a man who may or may not be having an extended nervous breakdown. Although we can also see the angel that appears to him to enlist him in the fight to save humanity, nobody else can, and we really don’t know if Kevin is a reliable narrator.
It all started when he and his niece chased down a meteor and it gave him some kind of charge when he touched it. So, naturally, he loaded into his car and brought it home. Since then, he’s been seeing and talking to an angel who thinks he’s some sort of chosen one. Now, he runs around trying to solve folks’ problems at the behest of his angel.

It’s probable that Kevin is just hallucinating after a significant bump on the head, but there are some clues that this breakdown might not be all in his head. His sister saw him save her daughter from falling and stopping short three feet from the ground, so it’s possible there really is a snarky, but compassionate, celestial being following him around, charging him with the redemption of all mankind.
I don’t really care so much if this new destiny of his is all in his head or not, but some of his delusions are so beautiful and life-affirming, I’ll just take the little bit of joy wherever I can get it.
With that, there’s TV’s messiest meltdowns. Here’s hoping they provide you with a little bit of catharsis.
