How it feels to be missing out on Harry Potter things as adults
Look, we all love Harry Potter. That’s why we’re here, but it is strange that now we’re starting to miss out on stuff for the series while being adults.
As kids, anything Harry Potter came out and we were there. Not because we were more dedicated to the series then (if anything, it is almost worse now for most fans) but rather because we had the time. As children, we could go to premieres and run around without care.
But now as adults, it isn’t really that easy. We have jobs and families to think about and so we miss out on some of the Harry Potter stuff we long to do. So is there a way to make us all feel better about it?
Honestly? Not really. It sucks. I remember being a kid and waiting for the midnight releases and then staying up all night to read the books. Now I’m lucky if I get a new book in the Potter world within a month of it coming out.
It honestly feels like there’s a part of my childhood missing by not going to all these things. Even though I’m aware it is not physically possible. And the fact that it was so hard to get tickets to Cursed Child makes it a little bit worse. Because there are other fans who will continue to get to do Potter stuff that I wont.
The whole idea of the series was acceptance and friendship and it just feels weird that we’re not all experiencing it together anymore like we used to with the book releases and movie premieres.
