Here’s what to expect from Blade Runner 2049

Blade Runner 2049 is here and fans are probably wonder what exactly to expect. Well, maybe go to the bathroom before you head in.

The time has come and fans of Blade Runner can finally rejoice knowing that they’ll get to see the continuation of the story they love. But what exactly can they expect from this new film? Well, you can read our review of the film and see how we feel about it. Or at least what we can talk about

The thing about Blade Runner 2049 is that a lot of the movie is hidden because they want the audience to experience the magic of the film. And I agree with that sentiment. There are too many twists and turns to unpack without ruining major plot points and character descriptions. So instead, I’m going to talk about the relationship between K and Rick and how wonderful that is to see.

So K is an officer whose mission is to find Rick. To that end, he ventures into an abandoned city (which I believe is meant to be Las Vegas) that was ravished by radioactivity but is now fine. There, K finds Rick and the movie suddenly turns from a dark drama filled with confusing plot lines (they’re meant to be a little confusing) and dark turns to a comedy.

Harrison Ford comes on and there are funny punches and Elvis and everything about this movie just seems lighter. Which is a great thing for the audience. I’ll remind you all that this movie isn’t short. At almost three hoursBlade Runner 2049 definitely could be ten minutes shorter but it has so many tonal shifts that you’re never really bogged down while watching the movie.
