3 Years Ago Taylor Swift Announced the 1989 Era
By Kara Johnson
We can’t believe the 1989 era was announced three years ago today (August 18). It’s been one wild, joyful, and magical ride. It was so magical that we remember it all too well.
We can’t help but remember our first clue that Taylor Swift gave us as she clued us in that something big was coming by using elevator buttons. Naturally, the entire fandom freaked out. Why wouldn’t they? It’s a worldwide celebrating when Swift gears up to announced a new album.
We knew that this era would be different, and we had a hunch she wasn’t going to be doing a country album. Sure enough, we were right. And let’s be honest, it’s one of the greatest albums of all time. Are we right?
But not only did Swift announce an album, she dropped Shake It Off at the very same time and premiered the music video. It was a beautiful time to be alive.
1989 was the album that started a magical era in the Swiftie fandom and it’s something we will never forget for as long as we live. It’s an album that has captured all of our hearts and has shown the true joy that Swift brings her fans. Not only that, but it’s an album that showcased the singer in her happiest place in life. And that is something to be proud of.
Happy three years of Shake It Off and reliving this special moment all over again.
