Where were you 5 years ago, today? We were waiting anxiously for Taylor Swift’s live stream where she announced her fourth studio album RED and dropped the lead single and No.1 hit “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together”.
Here are some facts about the album you may not have known:
- Taylor sold two RED albums every second in 2012 and was named the third biggest album of 2012
- In 2012, the album earned the biggest sales week for any album in over a decade
- “I Knew You Were Trouble” made history by netting her 50th song on the Billboard Hot 100 list
- “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” marked Taylor’s first No.1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart
- The entirety of the album is 65 minutes just in case you need to calculate how many times you can listen to it in one day.
- Is it up for debate that this could be the greatest Swift album of all time?
We could add many more facts to that list but needless to say, the album has had many successes and is still slaying as we speak.
The album had a whopping 7 music videos including “Everything Has Changed (Feat. Ed Sheeran” and her summertime anthem “22”.
The album was also up for Album of the Year at the Grammy’s, and let’s be honest, it should have won.
