Kendrick Lamar Did Not Know About Taylor Swift And Katy Perry’s Feud Before ‘Bad Blood’
Kendrick Lamar wasn’t siding with Taylor Swift when he leant his voice to her hit track “Bad Blood,” which is believed to be a diss track aimed at Katy Perry.
During a new interview, the rapper admitted that he had no idea that there was “bad blood” between Swift and Perry when he rapped on the song.
“No, I wasn’t aware of that, bro,” Lamar explained to Rolling Stone magazine, according to a report by NME on August 9. “No! On the record, no. Which makes it even more funny now, for sure.”
Kendrick Lamar claims Taylor Swift and Katy Perry’s feud is ‘real’
Although he didn’t know about the tension between Swift and Perry at the time of the song’s release, Lamar has since educated himself about the singers’ long-standing feud.
“That’s far beyond my concern. I have to stay away from that, for sure. That’s some real beef,” he said.
Taylor Swift is over her feud with Katy Perry
While Perry can’t seem to quit talking about Swift, a report in June revealed that Swift is now focused on other things.
“Taylor is focused on all the good things in her life, spending time with her mom and her family and her new relationship,” an insider told Hollywood Life. “She’s not thinking about Katy and something that happened five years ago, she’s moved on and she wishes Katy would too.”
“She’s starting to look very petty and Taylor doesn’t want to sink down to that level, she wants nothing but love and positivity in her life right now. It’s sad that Katy isn’t in that place, in a way Taylor feels sorry for her,” the insider added.
