Taylor Swift is already quite wealthy but soon, she may become even wealthier.

As she prepares to take on David Mueller, who she’s accused of grabbing her buttocks during a 2013 meet-and-greet, Swift is requesting $1 million from the former DJ, who sued her years ago after claiming she made false allegations against him which resulted in him losing his job.

On August 6, the Associated Press shared a report about the upcoming trial and revealed that while the proceedings are expected to last up to two weeks, it is highly unlikely that either Swift or Mueller will settle.

“Swift is seeking a verdict that awards her $1,” the outlet confirmed.

Taylor Swift’s motive is about more than money

In her lawsuit, Swift said she wants to hold Mueller responsible for his inappropriate behavior and serve “as an example to other women who may resist publicly reliving similar outrageous and humiliating acts.”

There’s no question that Swift’s motive here is about principals and morals, not cash. After all, Forbes magazine estimated that Swift was worth a whopping $280 million just two months ago.

How much does David Mueller want from Taylor Swift?

In his suit against Swift, Muller is requesting $3 million.

“David Mueller sued the singer-songwriter, saying he was falsely accused and that she should have called police instead of his bosses, who fired him soon after the June 2013 encounter,” the Associated Press explained. “He’s seeking up to $3 million in damages.”

Opening statements in the case between Taylor Swift and David Mueller are expected to be heard tomorrow.
