Is Taylor Swift’s DJ Groping Trial Open to The Public?
Taylor Swift is headed to court to take on Denver DJ David Mueller, who she claims grabbed her butt during a backstage concert event in 2013, and apparently, the trial is open to the public — but don’t get too excited.
Although there will be seats open to the public each day of the trial, they will be dealt out on a first-come, first-serve basis and there are only 32 seats in total.
According to new legal documents shared by TMZ on August 2, jury selection for Swift and Mueller’s case starts Monday in Colorado. As the outlet explained, Mueller is suing Swift and Swift is countersuing Mueller.
How can you nab one of the 32 seats to Taylor Swift’s trial?
As for how you can score a seat during the legal battle, the outlet said that Swift fans will have to wake up early — and likely wait in a major line.
“According to docs, Swifties can start lining up at 6 AM and passes will be handed out at 7 to the first 32. An overflow room with TV monitors will be available for 75 more people,” TMZ explained to readers. “It’s a small gamble — chances are Taylor won’t be in court everyday, but as they say … ya gotta be in it to win it.”
What’s the latest in Taylor Swift’s dispute with DJ David Mueller?
During a recent deposition, those in Swift’s camp claim that after Mueller allegedly grabbed her butt during the 2013 meet and greet event, Swift was noticeably “uncomfortable” but kept her mouth shut until the room they were in was empty. At that point, she proclaimed that Mueller had touched her butt.
Gregory Dent, who was acting as a member of Swift’s security team at the time, said, “Before the photo was taken is when I saw him go to put his arm around her and him lift up her skirt. She reacted, pushed her skirt down, and jumped to the side and went closer to the girl that was with him.”
