Angel – Angel

Sometimes you need your supernatural hunks to come with a little bit of a tortured soul and broody temperament. If you like ’em sad and forlorn, then Angel is your supernatural boyfriend goal. I know there has to be an exception to this, but I’m not sure I’ve ever seen this vampire even crack a smile. David Boreanaz played Angel super dark and twisty, and we’re here for it all.

When we first met Angel, as Buffy’s moody, mysterious, older boyfriend, we had no idea he’d become one of the most iconic vampires in the pop culture canon. He’s kind of like the mold from which all subsequent hunky vampires are cut.

Before Angel was Buffy’s main squeeze, he was a murderous, 200-year-old Irish vampire who went by the name of Angelus. He was cursed with a soul, which Buffy promptly delivered him from, and moved to Los Angeles to seek redemption for all the awful stuff he did. Once he’s on the straight and narrow, he’s not really much fun, and spends his nights searching for ways to tip the scales of good and evil and maintain balance and stuff.

All that is well and good, but all that brooding is desperately attractive, and makes you want to just scoop him up, stroke his hair, and tell him everything is going to be okay. Any woman who enjoys a good project will appreciate Angel’s draw, since he’s the mopey, frowny, sort. You’re probably never going to get him to cheer up, but man, will it be fun trying.
