There are very few specimens of the perfect man, but Joe Manganiello, with his shirt off and Southern accent is definitely one of them. He looks like he was created in a lab. As the sometimes-suitor to the fickle Sookie St. James, Alcide was the gift that kept on giving.

Long before Magic Mike was a thing, Alcide was steaming up our television sets every Sunday night. I may say I’m #TeamEric, but in my heart of hearts, I’ll always be loyal to Alcide. I’m a sucker for a man with a beard who swings a hammer.

Alcide is tall, broad-shouldered, and completely well-meaning. There isn’t a sinister bone in his werewolf body, but for some reason, he was never a serious contender for Sookie’s main guy. A working class man, who also has a body like Alcide, is the most attractive kind of man in the universe. Forget a flashy sports car, a high-powered job, or a refined sense of decorum. Give me a man with calluses on his hands; a thick, full beard; and truck with a cooler on the back any day. I don’t even care about the whole werewolf thing. I feel like I could overlook a lot from a man who looks like Alcide. Especially when he has his shirt off.
