Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn shocked fans when they failed to celebrate the Fourth of July holiday at her home in Rhode Island.

Although Swift never confirmed her plans for Tuesday’s holiday, fans expected to see her celebrate with her new boyfriend and her girl squad, which includes the likes of Gigi Hadid, Lily Aldridge, Karlie Kloss, and Martha Hunt. However, the Fourth of July came and went and Swift and Alwyn remained unseen.

On July 4, People magazine shared a report in regard to Swift’s public absence, revealing that while there was a large inflatable set up at the home, there was no signs of an actual party.

That said, Swift made her presence somewhat known to fans who camped out nearby with “We Love You Taylor” signs when her father sent them 1989 guitar picks.

Swift’s private jet was reportedly seen leaving London and heading to Rhode Island days ago but as People noted, there’s been no sign of Swift and Alwyn in the area.

“Taylor has been insanely private about her relationship with Joe,” a source told People magazine in May, adding that Swift and Alwyn have been dating for several months. “She wanted to get to know him without any chaos. She has learned from the past.”

“Joe’s a very normal, down-to-earth guy,” added another insider. “He’s private and low-key.”

“They’re on the same page on how to handle the attention,” adds the source.
