Jim Halpert – The Office

Every woman, at one time or another, has had a fantasy about a man that pines for her. We all want a Jim Halpert in our lives. A man who is so committed to his feelings for me, that he’s willing to wait years, in silence, until I’m ready. Jim Halpert may be a testament to the patience of love, but he’s also a unicorn – fictional.

I don’t know many men who would put their lives on hold to wait for a woman who they weren’t sure would ever love them back. It may sound really problematic when I lay it out like this, but if you don’t put too much logical thought into it, you can see how freaking romantic it really is. He longed for Pam for years. Jim came into the office everyday with all those secret feelings for her, and still acted charming and humble. He never once complained about the dumb friendzone, and he didn’t pressure her to love him back.

All his good-natured diligence paid off. Jim won the girl, and they went on to live happily ever after. Some nay-sayers might suggest this is just as elusive as the above mentioned unicorn, but I’m an optimist. If Jim can wait for Pam, then we can all find love. Of course, we might have to swipe through all sorts of losers with bathroom selfies as their profile pics. But if Jim taught me anything (besides how cute floppy hair can be) is that you just have to wait it out.
