Taylor Swift is headed to trial to take on the man who reportedly grabbed her butt during a meet and greet event years ago.
According to a new report, the 27-year-old singer scored a small victory in court when the DJ’s claims of slander were thrown out due to his late claim in the case.
“The Denver DJ Taylor Swift claims grabbed her butt during a photo op was too late to the table when it comes to HIS claim she slandered his good name,” TMZ revealed to readers on May 31.
A judge has thrown out David Mueller’s slander claim against Taylor Swift
As the outlet revealed, Swift won part of her legal dispute with DJ David Mueller earlier today when the court threw out his claim, which suggested Swift had gone “too far” in saying that he had reached under her dress and grabbed her butt in 2013. The report went on to reveal that the incident in question took place backstage during a concert four years ago.
“The judge said the 1-year statute of limitations for a slander claim had long since run out by the time Mueller filed it in 2016,” TMZ explained.
David Mueller claims Taylor Swift got him fired
In the years since the incident took place, Mueller has proclaimed that Swift’s allegations against him resulted in him losing his job at a radio station in Denver. Following the singer’s claim, Mueller sued Swift and Swift sued him back.
Although Mueller will not be able to move forward with his claim of slander, TMZ confirmed that the rest of his lawsuit against Swift will continue.
