Taylor Swift hasn’t been seen publicly in months and there’s a very good reason for her absence: her upcoming album.
According to a new report, Swift, who recently skipped the Met Gala, is focused solely on her career as her personal life and friendships take a back seat.
“Taylor has been writing and recording her new album in Nashville for the last several months,” a source revealed to E! News on May 4. “She has been working on it around the clock and will be making an announcement soon. She is really excited about her new music and can’t wait to share it with her fans.”
“[Taylor] has been entirely focused on that and not much else. She has been 100 percent dedicated to making music the last few months and that’s it,” the source added.
Taylor Swift had an eventful 2016
While not much happened on the career front, Swift continuously made headlines throughout 2016 due to her relationships with Calvin Harris and Tom Hiddleston. As fans may recall, Swift dated Harris for 15 months before their split in late spring and weeks later, she and Hiddleston engaged in a whirlwind romance that ended in August.
Taylor Swift remains in close contact with her friends
Swift may be focused completely on her upcoming album, but she has made it a point to frequently support her friends. In addition to a post of support for Lorde’s new song “Green Light” weeks ago, Swift also shared an Instagram update promoting the Haim sisters’ new song “Want You Back.”
E! News went on to reveal that Swift sent her longtime friend Gigi Hadid flowers on her birthday and has also “spent some time with her family and friends” amid her hectic work schedule.
“She is really looking forward to finishing the record and being able to have some down time to reconnect with her friends,” the source added.
