Zachary Levi Would Definitely do a Live-Action Tangled

Should Tangled ever get the live action treatment, Zachary Levi says he’d be ready to wield the frying pan.

It might be hard to get Flynn Rider’s nose right, but casting him is easy. Zachary Levi played the sarcastic hero of Disney’s Tangled in 2010. Currently, he’s reprising his role in Tangled: The Series on Disney Channel. And, during his appearance at C2E2 this year, Levi confirmed he’d totally be up for bringing his smolder to a live action version.

The idea was brought up during Levi’s spotlight at the convention, by a fan cosplaying as Rey-punzel – the combination of Star Wars and Tangled earned a big laugh from Levi, as well as his Starbucks cup, which he later signed.

Levi was quick to point out that he has “no idea if there’s ever going to be a Tangled live action” but he’s fascinated by how quickly the rumors start, thanks to social media. The concept can be introduced as a joke and “somehow it manifests as if it’s like ‘this is HAPPENING,'” Levi said laughing.

That said, he doesn’t necessarily have a problem with people thinking up their ideal castings. “Clearly, I’m Flynn in all those dream castings” Levi added. So, if Disney’s dream casting for a live action Tangled were to include him, Levi enthusiastically said “Yeah, I would love to do that!”

His main concern is for Rapnuzel, as he posed the question “How the hell do we do her hair?”

So far, live action adaptations have proven to be extremely successful for Disney. The studio has already announced plans for at least nine more live action films, including adaptations of Dumbo and Mulan.

Right now, it’s mainly Disney’s renaissance animations that are getting the live action revamp.

But I’ve got a dream, and a live action Tangled is definitely it.
