A Life-Size Sequel Is Happening At Freeform In 2018

Eve isn’t done shining bright or far. Our special friend is returning to screens next Christmas.

Eve’s great, no matter where she goes…and her next destination is Freeform. The network has announced that Life-Size 2 is coming to screens in December of 2018. A sequel to 2000’s Life-Size, Tyra Banks will reprise her role as the doll that comes to life, according to TVLine. Banks will also executive produce the project.

The film has been in the works for months, but has struggled finding a home. It was originally being considered as a Disney Channel original movie, ready to join the ranks of the greats like High School Musical. To refresh your memory, listen to Eve’s greatest hit:

One thing has always been certain: No one can play Eve but Tyra Banks. In a 2015 interview with Variety, Banks defended her role joking, “There is no one else that can play Eve but me, thank you very much!”

In fact, Banks has consistently been one of the film’s biggest fans. She first confirmed the the project in 2014, and teased it again the next year.

In the same interview with Variety, Banks revealed, “We’re looking at it as a holiday movie so hopefully holiday 2016.”

So what took so long? According to Banks, the writing had to be just right. She added, “One thing is it’s a very precious project…so they’ve been doing a lot of re-writes and making sure that this script is really right.”

In the sequel, it looks like Eve’s new “special friend” might not be a kid – potentially leaving the door open for Lindsay Lohan to return? According to a press release Eve will help a young woman “learn to live and love again,”  all while she too experiences “the ups and downs of real life in a fun, edgy, modern Christmas movie.”
