Spring Baking Championship Season 3, Episode 5 Live Stream: Watch Online
Mother’s Day is around the corner. Episode 5 of Spring Baking Championship Season 3 is a love poem to mom.
May celebrates mom with Mother’s Day. From breakfast in bed to a lavish dinner, for at least one day, mom is treated like a queen. On this week’s episode of Food Network’s Spring Baking Championship, the bakers create some sweet treats inspired by mom’s love.
When it comes to a mother’s day celebration, the treats should reflect mom’s favorite flavors, colors and desserts. This week, the remaining bakers create fruit tarts and vintage dessert makeovers that will make mom smile.
According to Food Network, the episode 5 synopsis serves up the following:
"It’s baking to celebrate mom! To kick off, the five remaining bakers create fruit tarts from the heart in a kaleidoscope of colors and flavors. Next, they give vintage dessert makeovers to “mom classics” like peach cobbler, bread pudding, chocolate cream pie and pineapple upside-down cake."
After last week’s puff pastry disasters, I wonder how many tart crusts will be edible. Tart crusts can be tricky and I would hate to serve Nancy or Lorraine undercooked dough (again). Hopefully, the tart colors aren’t technicolor either. If the color doesn’t exist in nature, it shouldn’t be in your dessert.
As for the vintage dessert makeovers, I think this challenge could prove much more intriguing. Mom-centric desserts are tied to memories. Changing something that brings joy or recalls a specific memory could be quite tricky. No one wants to turn mom’s classic dessert into a horrible pastry failure.
