Eddie Redmayne Explains the Mating Dance Scene in Fantastic Beasts
In Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Eddie Redmayne has to perform a mating dance as Newt Scamander and he tried to explain it.
When it comes to Eddie Redmayne, most of his fans love him for how awkward he tends to be. The very talented actor seems to easily blush and it is quite adorable. And that much was true as he explained the mating dance scene from Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.
The actor portrays Newt Scamander, the man who created the novel that Harry and his friends learn from. And while we went into this movie pretty blind on what it would hold for us all, this scene in particular made many of us fall in love with Newt.
In an interview at the Apple store, Eddie was asked about it. And in typical Eddie fashion, he was flustered but explained his thought process when he read it in the script. Well, kind of. It was more about his initial reaction to having to do the mating dance than him explaining anything.
Newt Scamander basically has to attractive a rhino type creature to get it back in his box. The dance ends up going south but it gives us a good few minutes of our awkward Eddie Redmayne looking even more uncomfortable, as if that was possible.
It is in there to make us see how much Newt knows about his creatures but it also gives us a look at who he is as a person as well. He’s willing to do anything for them.
