Alec Baldwin Will Not Be Playing Donald Trump Forever
Saturday Night Live is thriving with Alec Baldwin as their President Trump but it seems as if that time is not going to be long lived.
According to Vulture, Alec Baldwin won’t be staying on as President Trump for too much longer. The actor spoke with Extra about his role on Saturday Night Live and expressed why he didn’t think it would be smart for him to stay on the show.
When asked about his thoughts on the president, Baldwin remarked that Trump “overwhelmingly lacks any kind of sportsmanship”. He also stated that “the maliciousness of this White House has people very worried.”
He later went on to say that the anxiety of the American people is why he wouldn’t stay on. “That’s why I’m not going to do it much longer, the impersonation. I don’t [know] how much more people can take it.”
But it is sad for those of us who live for Baldwin’s impression. Mainly because he is the one we turn to for comedy in these weirdly dark times. And when Lopez asked him if he was going to play Trump at the White House Correspondents Dinner, Baldwin had this to say. “If they wanted me to do it I’d probably do it, but I’m not sure they do.”
But really, who wouldn’t want Alec playing Trump? The impression is so good that even Trump himself hates it. And that’s saying something about it.

Watch the interview here. And comment blow on how you feel about Baldwin leaving Saturday Night Live. Personally I’d love him to stay on for the next four years. Because if we have to live in a Trump presidency for that long, as least Baldwin will make it better.
