Just when you think you can’t love Sir Patrick Stewart more than you already do he announces he’s applying for citizenship to help ‘oppose’ President Trump.
Sir Patrick Stewart has been making the rounds on the daytime talk show circuit to promote his last X-Men film, Logan. While on The View the subject of politics came up and Stewart didn’t shy away from it. He even went as far as to reveal his plans to apply to become a citizen of the United States.
Stewart stated, he wanted to do more in the “fight” to “oppose” the policies of the Donald Trump presidency. Almost immediately after he said it the audience lost it.
Here’s the video of his appearance on the view.
The entire interview was great, but if you want to skip to his comments about becoming a citizen, it’s at the three-minute mark.
Sound the alarm and mark this in the Captain’s Log, because Jean-Luc Picard just joined the resistance. Seriously, this is great news. We have citizens in this country who aren’t willing to do anything to confront the injustices that are being committed. Here we have Stewart not only becoming involved but charging to the forefront.
On a side note: Any questions about who’s the better Starfleet Captain have been answered in the video above.
Below is the tweet mentioned in the video.
The Resistance would be proud to have someone of Professor X’s caliber in its ranks. We are only two months into Donald Trump’s presidency and it going to be all hand on deck to oppose the policies of that give life to Bigotry, Xenophobia, Sexism, Racism.
