Beauty and the Beast has raised a lot of questions over the years and Emma Watson is prepared to answer them all about the film.
Emma Watson stole many of our hearts playing the book loving Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter films. And now she’s another book loving heroine in the remake of Beauty and the Beast. For those who don’t know what that means, Emma is going to be playing Belle.
Now, while these interviews are great and show the love that fans have for the film, it makes me, an avid Beauty and the Beast watcher mad. Why, you may ask? Because his name is not the Beast. His name is Prince Adam.
But pushing that anger aside, Emma makes a wonderful point about their love story. One that tears down any ‘Stockholm Syndrome’ theories people have.
"For me, it didn’t feel contrived in the same way that perhaps other fairy tales have, [because] Beast and Belle really dislike each other at the beginning – they really don’t get on. And then they form this friendship. And then they fall in love."
It’s just nice to see someone who loves the story getting to play the part of Belle. So frequently, these actors and actresses have never even seen the original works. But Emma clearly loves the story.
And then there wouldn’t be a Beauty and the Beast without Prince Adam. And Dan Stevens is going to be incredible!
