Feud: Bette and Joan Has a Bevy of New Footage

With just a few weeks left until Feud: Bette and Joan attempts to dominate screens, it’s no surprise that more footage has emerged.

With this year’s season of American Horror Story seeming like it might be the most terrifying yet (because it’s going to be about the election we all just lived through), now seems like the perfect time to distract ourselves with the high drama promised by one of Ryan Murphy’s other FX series, Feud: Bette and Joan.

What better way to do that than by looking at a series of dramatically shot spots and clips? We tip our hats to Uproxx for the find.

We’ll start with “Descent,” which neatly sets the stage for the entire series by managing to roughly explain just where we’ll find Bette Davis and Joan Crawford at the start of the series:

What’s even better is how these are narrated like it’s a movie trailer. The only thing missing is “In a world” to start everything off. Then again, the series will deal with the filming of What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?, the film they starred in together. It makes perfect sense to promote the series about the movie as if it were a movie.

Having Lange as Crawford wash her face in ice water is a very nice touch, because it was part of her daily beauty regimen.

Are you starting to get the sense that these two actresses didn’t like each other? Did the thought from Bette Davis about kicking Joan Crawford in the head and being excited about it  really make it sink in?

We think it prudent to mention here that Bette Davis actually snagged an Oscar nomination for Baby Jane?, although she didn’t take the prize.

Somehow, though, Crawford’s walk down a hallway ends up being just as scary as Baby Jane turne out to be, and we’re not just saying that because of the music.
