Struggling to put together a Valentine’s Day celebration? Don’t worry, Simon’s having a hard time too in the latest Simon’s Cat cartoon.
You know how it is. You bring home the groceries, all ready to start a fancy, nutritious meal for your big date night. You’re going to stun your partner with your culinary prowess and use of obviously fresh and tasty ingredients. But there’s that darn cat, rummaging through the grocery bags, eating the baguette, getting startled by a cucumber…
Well, maybe that’s not you. But that’s certainly Simon’s experience in the latest Simon’s Cat, where the poor guy just want to make a nice dinner for his date and ends up with a bunch of produce on the floor and a loaf of bread with one kitty bite out of an end. It’s an adorable Valentine’s cartoon, and is only part one of two. Hopefully we’ll see the second later today!
This isn’t the first of Simon Tofield’s Valentine’s Day cartoons for us. A week ago, Tofield uploaded a compilation of three prior love-based Simon’s Cat videos, showing us a focus on the kitty himself on an outdoor adventure, as he attempts to woo a lady cat by impressing her with his mice-catching abilities, before moving on to seduce various other lady cats with varying degrees of success. All this goes about as well as you can imagine it does:

Poor Simon’s Cat. He’s just a kitty stuck in the same nightmarish world that all kitties are stuck in, one where your bowl being empty means starvation is imminent and cucumbers could leap out of nowhere and kill you at any second. I can only imagine what shenanigans he’ll get up to when Simon and his date actually start the dinner. Happy Valentine’s Day, kitty!
