Although the full content of the show may still be a mystery, Lady Gaga has given out some hints about what to expect during Super Bowl 51’s halftime show.
As we get closer to kickoff for Super Bowl 51, one can think of three major questions. First, who will actually win the game: the New England Patriots or the Atlanta Falcons? Second, which commercials will actually impress, and which will amount to little more than five-million-dollar disappointments? Third, how will Lady Gaga do as the headliner of the extremely important halftime show?
The full content of the show remains a mystery. However, here’s what we do know. Per CNN, the show will include hundreds of lit drones. This actually required special clearance from the Federal Aviation Administration, since the stadium is a no-fly zone for the weekend. Additionally, Gaga will perform on the roof for at least part of the show, presumably with the drones helping to light her up.
Furthermore, although reports initially said she would avoid any political statements, she will likely make a statement of some sort. That comes from her press conference late last week, where she said that her performance would reflect the values of inclusion and equality, which probably should not be political statements anymore, but then again, it might be just what we need these days.
Special guests have become a staple of the show, and Entertainment Weekly reports that Tony Bennett will actually appear at the show. Although it’s quite unlikely, we all hope that Beyoncé might make an appearance as well to break the internet less than a week after breaking it with the announcement that she’s pregnant with twins. After all, the Super Bowl is happening in Houston, and Beyoncé and Gaga have performed together before on tracks like “Telephone”.
