Harry Potter and the Cursed Child took some home awards from the annual Critics’ Circle Theatre awards last night! Including one for Anthony Boyle!

The London production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is making its mark in the theatre community! From the What’s On Stage awards to the Critics’ Circle, the play is doing its job in making the world know just how important Harry Potter is to its fans.

Anthony Boyle, John Tiffany, and Christine Jones all hit big at the Critics Circle Awards. Anthony for his work as Scorpius taking home the “Most Promising New Comer” award, John Tiffany won for Best Director, and Christine Jones nabbed one for Best Designer.

For many of us, the production still remains a mystery. The play was released worldwide last July but it doesn’t really give sight to what the actual production looks like. As someone who studied theater and is a huge Harry Potter nerd, this is all a dream come true for me.

But it also is a bit confusing. When you study theater, you read plays in a completely different light. You read them and instantly wonder how they could possibly be staged. With this production, I have no clue.

It seems, however, that the critics are dying over Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. They love the work the cast put into it as well as the world created by J.K Rowling, Jack Thorne, and John Tiffany. Maybe we all can see it soon.

Hopefully soon fans in the United States can experience the play when it makes its way to Broadway but until then, we’ll just have to look forward to all the awards and praise the London production is getting.
