For fans of Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, this season has had its fair share of references to the song “Period Sex” and now, we finally got a music video for it.
Crazy Ex-Girlfriend is critically acclaimed for good reason. The show itself is absolutely amazing. Each week it brings new light to Rebecca and her relationships with Josh, Greg, Nathaniel, Paula, Valenica and a whole slew of West Covina natives.
But this season, there has been one song we were teased about time and time again. “Period Sex” would be played in snippets and that’s all we would hear of it. But now, the wait is finally over. Today, Rachel Bloom released the full video for “Period Sex” on YouTube and now we know why it won’t be in the show.

Honestly, the song is really funny. It’s a little gross but if you’re a woman, you kind of know that there is nothing wrong with your period. So a song like this even existing is amazing! Before talking about periods was forbidden and now there’s a whole song entitled “Period Sex” that is from a cable network television show.
It also helps that Rachel Bloom wrote it. She has a way of making even the strangest of songs amazing. Don’t believe me? Just watch my favorite scene and song from all of season 2. It was Greg’s last moment with Rebecca before he was leaving for business school. And honestly, it was the most honest song in the entire show.

“Period Sex” may be a little too dirty for television but at least we have Rachel Bloom making sure we get it no matter what.
