Is the Harry Potter Studio Tour getting an Aragog-themed expansion?

Several officially sanctioned Harry Potter-related Twitter accounts have teased that something at the upcoming Celebration of Harry Potter.

Something gross with eight legs and too many eyes this way comes. According to three official Harry Potter-related Twitter accounts, anyway. The Twitter accounts for the Warner Bros. Studio Tour in London, Pottermore, and the official Harry Potter Film account have all sent out the same message recently:

And they all link to this terrifying Instagram account, which is just a mosaic of Aragog staring us full in the face:

Guhh…

And in the header on the Instagram page: “Secrets will be Revealed on 27th January, 2017.”

“Follow the spiders,” of course, is the clue Hagrid gave Harry and company in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, when everyone in Hogwarts was freaking out about students (and cats) getting petrified. Harry and Ron took Hagrid’s advice and followed a line of spiders deep into the Forbidden Forest where they ran into Aragog, a massive man-eating arachnid and one of Hagrid’s many ill-chosen pets. For their trouble, they eliminated a suspect in their investigation and Ron was scarred for life.

What does it all mean? Well, the A Celebration of Harry Potter event will be held at the Universal Orlando Resort this weekend. Odds are something Aragog-related will be revealed on Friday, the 27th. Might there be an Aragog-themed exhibit coming to the Warner Bros. studio tour in London? That seems the most likely explanation given the participation of the WB Tour London account, but we shouldn’t write off the possibility that Aragog is getting a spinoff movie, that he’ll be the cornerstone of a new line of merchandise, or that he’ll appear in person and try to eat celebration attendees.

Probably not that last one. We’ll know for sure in a couple days.
