11. John’s Affair
While it was slightly out of character, John Watson’s affair with Eurus Holmes was pretty shocking. First of all, he didn’t realize that he was flirting with Sherlock’s little sister but it’s not even that. Sherlock and John Watson are two men dedicated to whatever their case is or those people in their lives.
But for John, he got married to Mary, they had Rosamund and then suddenly he was ready to have an affair with a woman on a bus. It honestly wasn’t the best writing of his character but it did make for a shocking moment. Why? Because you have this man who is so dedicated to everything and everyone around him and then you have him cheat on his wife.
It doesn’t really make much sense. But I guess that’s part of Eurus’s charm. At first, we just looked negatively at John but in reality, it was with someone who was known for convincing people to do her bidding. But if that is why John cheated on Mary, it wasn’t made clear and still just left a bad taste in our mouths.
So yeah, it was shocking and not very John like, but it happened and we have to process this.
