A Series of Unfortunate Events is the beloved series from Lemony Snicket. After a failed film series, it seems that the Netflix series found its niche.

Most twenty somethings remember when they first read A Series of Unfortunate Events. To think about the fact that these very sad and depressing books were meant for children is a bit weird. Mainly because the series itself is quite upsetting, even for adults.

But what was even more depressing was the fact that there had never been a book to movie version that was actually decent. The movie that came out with Jim Carrey as Count Olaf was mediocre at best. But now, things have changed.

Netflix announced that they would be making a television series based on the beloved books with Neil Patrick Harris taking on the role of Olaf. And honestly, the show is absolutely incredible. For someone who didn’t really remember the books all that well, the series does an incredible job of reminding us why Lemony Snicket’s world is amazing.

So we’re outlining the 11 reasons why you should definitely give Netflix’s A Series of Unfortunate Events a chance. From Lemony Snicket himself to the Baudelaire children, it makes us love the dark and depressing world that Lemony created for us once more. And don’t forget, this isn’t a story for the faint of heart.
