X-23 Goes Savage in the Final Logan Trailer

In the new trailer for the Logan film, the focus shifts to X-23, a young girl who can really tear it up if you make her angry. Watch the trailer now!

There’s something about little girls in grocery stores stealing food, huh? As the new Logan trailer kicks off, we get a scene reminiscent of Eleven in Stranger Things stealing Eggos. Like Eleven, X-23 is hiding a lot of power… and this Logan trailer spends its entire two minutes proving so.

If we ignore some of the more obvious CGI effects, this trailer purposefully takes the focus off Wolverine / Logan. If they want to prepare us for a Hugh Jackman-less franchise, this is a great way to do it. Especially as the trailer pokes a little bit of fun at itself and shows Wolverine reading his own X-Men comic. If this really is Jackman’s last film as Wolverine, they’ve managed to pull off what appears to be the perfect balancing act.

Based off Old Man Logan series, Logan will see Wolverine and Professor Xavier travelling across a barren America where mutants have basically become extinct. But one still survives: X-23. Like Logan, X-23 wields the fist blades, super strength and advanced reflexes. In almost a Batman and Robin way, Logan will have to accept his role as X-23’s guardian, whether he likes it or not. Because as Professor X wisely points out, Logan’s the one who came along.

Over the past decade or so, we’ve seen Logan / Wolverine go on many journeys. But this appears to be the one that really changes him. It’s funny to see his story come full circle like this. When we first met him, he was reluctantly taking care of Rogue (you saw her in the comic, right?), and now’s he’s going to finish with X-23.

So prepare for all the awesome action sequences and emotional story as Logan drops into theaters on March 3.
