Molly Weasley and Julie Walters: Casting at its Finest

Julie Walters proves that casting can be perfect with her role as Molly Weasley. Mainly because the two have quite a bit in common.

Molly Weasley is a strong woman who knows just want to say in every kind of situation and it seems like Julie Walters isn’t much different. Walters, the actress who brought to life Molly in the movies, is famous apart from the Harry Potter series but to many, she’ll always be Mrs. Weasley.

Much like Molly, Julie is loving almost too a fault. Back in her days as a nurse, Julie says she was almost too loving with the men she had as patients. “I fell in love with a lot of the male patients, too – the hospital had to actually ask me to stop writing so many letters to them after they’d left,” she told the Telegraph. But honestly, they missed out because who wouldn’t love Julie?

And she, like Molly, also knows when to bring in that little bit of humor to liven up a situation. When a sad situation came her way, she was able to joke and laugh about it so that she made those around her happier. Much like Molly does with her children.

But most of all, both Julie and Molly stand up for what they believe in. Molly stood up for the wizards of her world and Julie stood up for the ageism and sexism she faced. Both admirable for their own reasons, both amazing women and both directly responsible of Julie Walters.
