21 Women Who Inspire Us To Make 2017 A Better Year
15. Layne Morgan
We need, now more than ever, to showcase women who are giving back, who are using their voice and their platform to shine a light on people who are helpless. Layne Morgan is one of those people. I first took notice of this when her and actor Devon Bostick teamed up to create The 100 Charity Project, a charity initiative inspired by The CW show The 100. On it’s first day of raising money, they raised over $5,000 for an organization called Action Against Hunger, which provides clean water, food, and emergency care to families in need.
Through 2016, her initiatives to give back didn’t end. Just recently, she raised over $3,000 in one day for RAINN, an organization providing assistance to sexual assault survivors. This fundraiser came shortly after her campaign for GLADD, where she raised $5,000 for LGBTQ+ acceptance.
Her heart is clearly in the right place as she uses her large social media presence to raise awareness of current issues that need our help and support.
