Reason For Newt Scamander’s Expulsion from Hogwarts Revealed!

A new Fantastic Beasts tie in book reveals the reason behind Newt Scamander’s expulsion from Hogwarts and what really happened.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is the opening movie of a quintology. As such, there were many loose ends left at the close of the movie. From Grindelwald’s fate to Queenie and Jacob’s relationship, so many stories were left to be tied up.

But one of the most curious was the question of what exactly happened with Newt Scamander and The Expulsion from Hogwarts. The movie took pains to set that up, both in the trailers and then in the movie–a bit as a hint that the auror Graves wasn’t all he seemed, but also because it gave our hero a mysterious past.

As the clip reminds us it wasn’t so much a full expulsion as a near-one.

So what did happen exactly? Well, according to The Case of Beasts: Explore the Film Wizardry of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, all the details of Newt’s incident are in those papers Graves has in front of him. And now, we have a close up of those papers, as created by graphic designers MinaLima.

SnitchSeeker sat down and deciphered what it said.
