3. Book Subscriptions
If you have a bit more to spend, you may want to consider gifting a book subscription service for some period of time to a bibliophile for the holiday season. Let’s break down three of them here to give you some ideas.
First up is Amazon’s Kindle Unlimited, which does not require a Kindle device. Amazon is very particular about emphasizing that, and so we’ll do the same. It allows for unlimited access to both ebooks and audiobooks and costs $9.99 a month. You can purchase 6-month, 1-year, and 2-year options.
If Amazon seems a bit pricey, you may want to consider Scribd instead. This service offers ebooks and audiobooks as well. However, you can buy 3-month, 6-month, and 1-year subscriptions, and they aren’t as expensive as the Kindle Unlimited options.
Finally, if your bibliophile still dislikes electronic reading, you could consider a Book of the Month subscription. It allows a reader to choose 1 new hardcover book every month, with the option to add on more books for $9.99 apiece. Plans include free shipping, and it’s currently running a promotion where you can get a free month for yourself if you buy a subscription for someone else. Additionally, those who love to read the newest books would appreciate this subscription.
