Everyone is talking about politics nowadays and people are saying “don’t bring politics into this”. So here’s how politics are in everything you love.

With everything surrounding politics nowadays, many are asking whether or not their favorite shows and movies also have to do with politics. Well, they’re not really asking. Most people are commenting on articles or looking at the world and asking that people keep politics out of their favorite shows.

So I’m here to ruin all your favorite things for you and prove how most of the ‘fandoms’ or shows you like have some connection to politics. For some, it is extremely obviously. Clearly you go into watching Veep knowing that you’re watching a show about a political figure. Others, maybe it isn’t so clear.

I mean, it is clear to me but you might not realize that Harry Potter has an underlying theme of political corruption. So I’ve complied a list of all the favorites out there (or at least most of them) that has a real political theme to them. Again, some are obvious and others not so much.

From Parks and Recreation to Star Wars, this list proves that, try as you might to escape the world that is surrounding us, politics rear their ugly head in even our most prized television series and movies. Really this just proves that politics are, actually, all around us.
