7.  James Bond

Last year there was buzz that James Bond: The Musical was in the works. Since then nothing has come from this news with the studio even pointing out that the rights to license the film and character have not been made available to producers. But the idea is a great one. James Bond, the king of cool, in a smooth, jazzy, action packed musical? Yes please.

Look no further than Catch Me If You Can to see how a play like this could work. Frank Abagnale Jr. is no Bond, but he’s pretty close with his crafty and charming ways. Catch Me If You Can has a big band, old school Broadway sound that a Bond musical could replicate. Or it could go in a totally new direction and set it more in present day. That’s the beauty of Bond, he can really be from any time or place.

The most important part of a James Bond musical would be finding the right lead. Heck it could even be a Jane Bond musical. The possibilities are endless. I, however, am partial to the idea of Leslie Odom Jr. of Hamilton fame as Bond. He could seduce you right into bed with that silky voice of his and he’s also a pretty decent shot from what I hear.
