I’m not a rapist.

Paul is pretty delusional. Well, he is a serial killer so delusion might be one of his better qualities. At the end of Season 1, he has a quick chat with Stella during which he seems to think his crimes of torturing and then murdering women are somehow noble and justified.

But Stella sees the truth and simplifies it for him saying “you try to dignify what you do, but it’s just misogyny.” Yeah, you aren’t original at all. You’re just like the others committing “age-old violence against women”. There’s nothing special about Paul. Way to call it like it is Stella. Later, Paul seems to think that while he is brutally murdering women, he isn’t technically raping them so, it’s better somehow in his mind? Stella quickly shuts it down by saying that he is “driven by sexual fantasies”. Basically: “You violate them. You’re a rapist.”

She also reminds him that all of his victims are someone’s daughter, a fact that he has ignored even though he has a daughter of his own at home. Why can’t he make the connection between his own daughter and his victims? Does he not see that crimes against women hurt all women? Don’t worry, Stella isn’t going to let him get away that easily.

Next: But seriously, you should f*** off.
