10. Bran Stark: “Part of Your World”

"And I’m ready to know what the people know Ask ‘em my questions And get some answers What’s a fire and why does it—what’s the word?—burn? —The Little Mermaid"

Since Bran has the power of the past, present, and future in the palm of his hand, he may know more than everyone in Westeros combined. But we saw him struggle with this in Season 6. He was trapped in a cave with the Three-Eyed Raven, who kept him in the dark while Bran sought the entire truth. He wanted answers whether or not he was prepared to handle them, but the Three-Eyed Raven wouldn’t give him so much as a crumb. This, of course, led to the major devastation we saw in “The Door.”

“Part of Your World” is all about breaking personal limitations in order to seek greater adventures and truths. This is what Bran has wanted from the beginning. He sought thrills in climbing the walls of Winterfell. After his fall, he tried to work his way back to who he was before. And once he meets Jojen and Meera Reed, he wants the truths they can offer him. He wants to expand his warging powers, and he desperately wants to find the Three-Eyed Raven so as to learn why it’s been haunting him all these years.

While his siblings are seeking identity and home, Bran is on a constant mission for truth. He finally understands his place in his own world. Now it’s a matter of fitting that world into the wider one, and what that will mean for the role he has to play.
