Top 10 Returning Fall TV Shows You Should Be Watching

7. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D (ABC)
Premiere Date: September 20th
The Marvel Cinematic Universe has not fared well in the past with television shows. This is a category DC has a firm hold on. MCU has found a hit with Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Things went a little haywire with season three. It wins the 2015 award for television show who is doing too much. The show is loosely based off Secret Warrior Marvel Comic Universe.
The show also had to contend with the linking of storylines with the new Captain America: Civil War and the AoS television spin-off called Marvel’s Most Wanted. In the past, AoS has done a great job linking the movie and television universe in an almost organic way. This time, it felt like it was forced. Marvel’s Most Wanted pilot was not picked up for the 2016 season. This means AoS wrote off two perfectly established actors for absolutely nothing. I am optimistic Bobbie and Lance come back later in season four. This show needs someone like Lance to state the obvious in a comedic way.
I have hope that AoS has learned its lesson. Just looking at the cast list for season four you will notice fewer characters. This will lend itself to better storytelling. We also know Season 4 is going big and bring in Ghost Rider and his mystical abilities. AoS have set Season 4 to be its redemption from last year.
