8. Empire (FOX)
Premiere Date: SEPTEMBER 21st
Fans of the show Empire are ready to get to brass tacks of what is going on with Fall TV’s favorite family. The Lyons are guaranteed to spice up your fall TV show lineup. Empire showrunner, Ilene Chaiken said in a meeting with Deadline, what can expect from Season 3.
"“You’ll see in Season 3 more than ever, is that we’re going to slow burn our stories a little bit more. It will always have those big Empire moments, but every moment, every story that we’re telling is driven by character”."
She also alluded to fans finding out who exactly went over the balcony in Season 2 and if they are still alive. Hakeem is going to have a hard time moving on since Laura left him at the alter. This could undo all the hard work Hakeem has done to become a better man in season two. We last saw Jamal in a wheelchair for taking a literal bullet for Lucious. We can expect Jamal’s recovery to be plagued with physical and emotional setbacks. Lucious and Cookie have slowly moved towards reconciliation. It is thwarted by the Lucious need to marry Anika to prevent her from testifying against him.
At the end of Season 2 an old nemesis of Lucious named Tariq. I would look for more of him since the actor Xzibit has been confirmed as a season three regular. What everyone should be looking forward to is the entrance of Phylicia Rashad as Diana Dubois to the show. We can only hope Rashad and Taraji P. Henson have plenty of scenes together. It will be rating magic. To round out the guest cast for season three are French Montana, Mariah Carey, and Birdman as himself.
