3. Cersei’s Ultra Lannister Look (Season 2)

Cersei has worn tons of outfits over the years, but this, for my money, is her most stunning look. It’s the first time we see her as she will be for the next few seasons. All through Season 1, she was “Robert’s Queen,” with the crowning hair rolls and braids. Her dresses were all the “southron” style. But in Season 2, Cersei steps up to take charge over what she sees as her meddling little brother. Her hair is now always worn down. (We get the sense is the style she is most comfortable with.) This is the reddest red we ever see her in, with the goldest gold inside the sleeves.

And then of course, there’s the metal work on the bodice, her own version of the Lannister armor. Part of why we didn’t see this in Season 1 of course, was because Headey was pregnant for most of the King’s Landing filming. (That’s also why she wore the huge sleeves that became the character staple.) But with no more baby bump to have to work or film around, the costume designers took full advantage of her hourglass figure and gave her a regal look for the ages.
