Okay, okay. I love a cappella groups. But, really, so should you. Why are Home Free different? They’re country music.

I try not to discriminate against genres, but I can’t help but hate country. Usually. Home Free, though, are something different and worth a listen, even for the most adamant of non-country music followers.

Home Free won season 4 of The Sing-Off, so they are musical cousins to Pentatonix (#8 spot), and this video of them performing “Ring of Fire” features Avi, a member of Pentatonix.

Again, be prepared to have your mind blown by the power of voices- and only voices. The coolness of a cappella is that there are NO instruments, but there are very few groups who can honestly capture the attention of today’s over-produced musical tastes and make you go, “Wow. Give me some more of that!” Home Free is one of those groups.

This song is famous enough to not need much introduction, so all I’ll say is this: listen for their guy singing bass. He hits a note so low, it’s almost not registered by the human ear.
