#1: “Dust” by Tremonti on “Dust” 2016

Tremonti (the band) is actually Mark Tremonti’s (the person, previously of Creed) side project. Yes, Creed, believe it or not. His main gig nowadays is with the hard rock band Alter Bridge, fronted by Myles Kennedy. Both Alter Bridge and Tremonti have gone relatively unnoticed in the US and even though both men are basically musical geniuses, despite creating in a genre not particularly well-known for musical geniuses.

“Dust” offers us an honest taste of mainstream rock- gripping intro, booming chorus, a guitar solo to die for- save for the pressures that come with being a top-selling band. Also, it’s worth mentioning that Mark Tremonti is singing lead vocals on this project, which he hasn’t done before, and the vocals are a definite highlight. Mark co-founded Fret12, the record label and production company he uses for Tremonti’s work. That is to say, he has the creative freedom.
