Those of you with access to Books-A-Million stores (otherwise known as BAM!) will be interested in knowing that the bookseller has revealed their midnight release party plans for the Harry Potter and the Cursed Child official script book. In celebration of the countdown to the book release, all store locations will begin festivities at 2pm on July 30th.
During the first part of the party BAM! plans to have Harry Potter story time, coloring stations, trivia contests, Marauder’s Map scavenger hunts, wand crafts, and other family friendly activities. Then at 9pm, the official countdown event starts with Sorting Hat ceremonies, costume contests, and other Potter-themed activities. This’ll be a great opportunity for muggle fans to show off their wizard wear.
Muggles should get out their good luck charms and register in a drawing for a trip for four to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios Orlando! BAM party goers will receive an exclusive swag bag filled with spellbinding goodies.
Sandra Wilson, Senior Book Buyer and Vice President of Merchandising at Books-A-Million, commented on the party plans via their press release:
“With an extensive community of multi-generation followers since the series’ start in 1998, the ‘Harry Potter and the Cursed Child’ release is undoubtedly the biggest book launch of the year. We’re looking forward to celebrating the monumental debut with devoted fans of all ages, and to once again revel in the literary magic of Harry Potter!”
Please not that only customers who have pre-ordered books will have first access to their copy at midnight. Fans can purchase pre-order vouchers at stores or online at www.booksamillion.com.
I am only slightly sorry that they didn’t entitle it BAM! HARRY POTTER NIGHT! Maybe for the ninth story?
