Fake Site Hypes “Quidditch Through the Ages” Movie

A fake entertainment site has been claiming a new movie based on Quidditch Through the Ages is filming soon. Don’t believe the hype.

Sorry my hardcore Quidditch fans, but you’ll have to just make do with the coming World Cup action later this season. All rumors about Rowling’s next film being based on Quidditch Through the Ages is just not true.

The entertainment website WLEB 21, which looks suspiciously like The McKenzie Post, another site which was spreading odd and false rumors about celebrities recently, claimed earlier this month that there was a brand new Potter movies in the works. On the surface, it almost seemed believable.

After all, the one coming this November, Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them, is based on a spin off book from the Potter series, and has been packaged with similar volumes Quidditch Through The Ages and Tales of Beedle The Bard as part of the Hogwarts Library Collection for years. Claiming that the next installment was based upon the next book in that collection, Quidditch Through The Ages, and that filming would commence soon, now that Fantastic Beasts has wrapped might not seem totally off base.

But filming in the US? When Fantastic Beasts–which is set in the US–filmed in the UK? (Like all the other Potter movies!) Strike one.

Focusing on Quidditch–which was so difficult to film they cut it back in the original Potter movies? Strike two.

And starring Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint, reprising their roles–even after both Watson and Radcliffe have said they would not? Strike three people.

This rumor’s nonsense. Consider yourself trolled. Tread carefully fans. The internet is full of wanna-be dementors that way.
