Nickelodeon revealed the first trailer for the “Rocko’s Modern Life” TV movie. If you’re a 90s kid, it’s everything you hoped it would be.

We live in an age of reboots, and Rocko’s Modern Life now lives among them. Back in 2015, Nickelodeon made it known they were looking at their old 90s cartoons to revive, and this hilarious gem came among them.

Now… now Nickelodeon has given us our first look at just what they’re going to give us.

And, well, our “beaver friend” (according to Heffer’s grandpa) isn’t in the 1990s anymore. Check it out below:

"I don't think we're in the '90s anymore…"Here's a first look at the upcoming "Rocko's Modern Life: Static Cling" TV special 😄

This picks up after 20 years of Rocko, Heffer, and Filburt orbiting through space, only to find how much the world has changed. Unsurprisingly, Heffer and Filburt adapt quickly, with Rocko left in the dusty, wondering just what happened to his world.

Rocko was certainly most known for its weird sight gags and its crude humor that went over the top of kids’ heads. The weird sight gags definitely still show up in this trailer (the energy drink that’s literally radioactive?).

And it doesn’t hold back on making fun of the current state of the world. Rocko’s beloved Kind of A-Lot-O Comics no longer has paper comics. Everything comes in the form of a 3D print. The one that gets me the most, however, is the dark take on Really Really Big Man, which is a DCEU reality we all live in.

I love Rocko’s Modern Life. Every Christmas, I have to watch Rocko’s Modern Christmas. It’s a relief to see that some things haven’t changed. This is how you do a reboot. The fact that the whole thing framed itself within the opening credits? Fantastic. This can’t come soon enough.
